“Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane, go and see him, and spend any time with him — I’m grateful for that," Harry said in the interview, which aired Friday morning.
He also shared that he has “other trips planned that would take me to the U.K. or back to the U.K., so I’ll stop in and see my family again.”
“Being a dad certainly adds another emotional layer to it,” Harry told PEOPLE in 2022. “When I was in the Army, I promised myself I would be out before having a wife and kids, because I couldn’t imagine the heartache of being apart for so long during deployment, the risk of possibly getting injured, and the reality that my family’s lives could be changed forever if that happened.”
