During his ten years operate at the Grant Museum of Zoology in London , Jack Ashby has stumbled upon some unmated mystery story . Why does the museum ’s collection include a plum tree in a jar ? Who ate their Galapagos tortoise ? And now , his latest , keen enigma : Why would someone stick a bombardment in a stagnant fauna ?

Ashby , who writes a web log scream Specimen of the Week , came across two specimen jar : one contain a preserved opossum and the other containing a battery that had been removed from said opossum . The accompanying story has given him little to work with :

Specimen appears to have a rusty yellow dark tone and seems to be dye in some way … .. yellowed colored growth from stomach arena transpired to be chew of cotton plant wool ( orange tinted ) which had been stuffed inside the specimen . On removal , a D - case Duracell battery was removed from the organic structure caries ( organs seem to be polish off ) .

So far , Ashby has been able to descend up with two theories :

It was an experimentation into the organic evolution of the Duracell Bunny .

Something frightful and Frankensteiny took place , only using a much lower voltage .
