The only thing we ever wanted from the Guillermo del Toro - produced devil - snatch film Do n’t Be Afraid Of The Dark was for it to be square - up terrifying . But the motion picture ’s first review claim it ’s not just super - shuddery , it ’s actually really good .
looter ahead …
The LA Timeswent to an early viewing of the Troy Nixey - directed horror movie , which GDT grow and co - wrote . While it ’s not a terribly long critique , it ’s all overpoweringly convinced . The film is about a man , his girlfriend and his girl , who all move into a Rhode Island manor , which is infest with demons . While tiny demons do n’t always give us the chills , we were confident that GDT would incur a way to make them frightening . Sounds like he did :

While there are batch of leap - out - of - your - seat second , Do n’t Be Afraid of the Dark is differentiate by its restraint and creative use of sound . We ’ve all seen countless fright moving-picture show where creaking floors create suspense , but how many have used whispers – “ Come down to the basement and trifle with us ” – to adequate effect ?
The reviewer go on to say that Dark is n’t all climb up - out - of - your - bottom scares . It sounds like the psychological fear is equilibrise with the physical shocks . Sums up the reviewer : “ In other Good Book , 100 % Del Toro . ”
Sadly , the celluloid wo n’t be release until April of 2011 .
