river of London : Night Witch will be a prequel to The Hanging Tree , the 6th entrance in Aaronovitch ’s book series — in the beginning calledMidnight Riotin the U.S. before being reverted to the original U.K. title for late volume — about the dangerous undertaking of full - metre London Metropolitan Police Constable / part - time thaumaturgist Peter Grant and his work at the Met ’s “ Special Branch ” dealing with magical secret in London . This time , Grant is on the display case of a beldame whose vast power are being sought out by Russian gangsters for utilization in nefarious reprehensible activities .
Just like the first miniseries , Night Witch is a soundly Doctor Who - tastic collaboration ; Aaronovitch ( who wrote “ Rememberance of the Daleks ” and “ Battlefield ” for the Seventh Doctor ) will again save the funny series with former Doctor Who showrunner Andrew Cartmel , while Doctor Who laughable artist Lee Sullivan and Luis Guerrero will deal the prowess .
