Farrah Abrahamis opening up about her decision to leave the suburbs when her daughter was young.

The formerTeen Momstar, 33, opened up to SiriusXM’sThe Bonfirehosts Big Jay Oakerson and Robert Kelly about the reason she had to move out of the suburbs. Abraham, who appeared on the show to discuss her upcoming comedy debut, made the decision to leave when people were talking to her daughterSophia, 16, who was only 5 years old at the time, about her adult film life.

“That’s when I took her out of public school. She was 5 years old and, I don’t know, it was like, ‘Why are 5-year-olds coming to public school talking about my sex life to my daughter?’ " she told the hosts.

“I know I took over this whole community of like couples and their brains, but for it to go all the way down to 5-year-olds? So, I got out of the suburbs. Bye suburbs. It was not gonna happen anymore.”

The16 and Pregnantalum recentlycelebrated a special momenton Sunday, Feb. 23, as her daughter Sophia turned 16 herself. The mother-daughter duo celebrated the special occasion abroad, each sharing scenes from their trip to Germany.

“Happiest Sweet 16 to the one & only@sophialabraham🌟 To the star who made me famous at 16, I love you, I’m excited we’re traveling the world together 🇩🇪 Germany 🇩🇪 this year,” she wrote, alongside a photo collage shared on Instagram Reels to celebrate the teen’s “full life.”

“Presently I’m beyond proud of you for not people pleasing, conforming and staying true to your values. I’m grateful for you being in my life and making me the best parent, the best me and healing myself while raising you has been the biggest gift in life,” the proud mom continued. “I look forward to our next 16 years being even more memorable then our first - I love being a teen mom and wouldn’t of wanted it any other way- I’m so blessed to have had the experience so I can see the world for what it really is. Grateful for you Sophia! Have the Sweetest 16 Birthday ever 🎂🎉.”

The single mom said on the season 1 reunion, which aired in 2009, that going from a high school student to a parent was a “big transition.” While Abraham confessed on the show that “nothing about being a teen mom is easy,” she noted that “everything that I went through, I would not take any of that back,” adding, “[Sophia’s] made me a better person.”

Speaking to PEOPLE in 2016, Abraham shared, “I always try to be very connected with herand be the best mom that I can be.”
