The full trailer for A24’s dark comedyThe Cursedropped on Thursday. There’s no shortage of suspense and comedy as the extended teaser promises, “This isn’t your typical home-flipping show.”
From there, everything falls apart.

“We’re doing good here. We are good people,” Asher tells a friend, before ripping the $100 bill back from the girl when he thinks cameras aren’t rolling. “So all I had on me was that $100 bill," he justifies. “Let me go get change and—”
The child says there are “no refunds” before offering an ominous “I curse you” to the television star. It triggers a disagreement with Whitney, who asks, “Why didn’t you just give her the $100?”
While the curse may seem like child’s play, the tone of the trailer soon turns foreboding as Whitney and Asher’s life begins to unravel off screen, and he admits, “Things have been a little weird.”

As the trailer goes on, the couple disagree, their motivations — and morals — seeming at odds.
Arrests, armed men, running children, dead birds and fake smiles plaster flash, leading to a voiceover warning: “Everyone will get to see who you really are.”

Before the 10-episode series makes its broadcast debut Nov. 12 on Showtime, it can be streamed starting Nov. 10 via the Showtime add-on to Paramount+.
