Police have not yet released the name of the deceased driver.“The child that was in the backseat of the vehicle was awake and responsive at the scene,” Dally said, WFSB reports. “The mother was brought to the scene and accompanied the child to Connecticut Children’s (Medical Center) for evaluation and treatment.”The Windsor Police Department did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
