Everyone knows the easiest way to sell something to the masses is through animation . Hasbro had the Transformers and G.I. Joe cartoon to sell toy back in the 1980s , and in the 1970s AT&Tproduced this whimsical liven rompwhich the troupe used to extoll the benefits of its regulated monopoly .
It ’s actually more of an over - hyped cautionary tarradiddle than anything , scaring the country into thinking that buying anything other than AT&T computer hardware and service could leave them without a reliable home phone .
