Everyone seems to love theEeePC‘s tiny trunk , but their technical school musical accompaniment seems kind of lousy . Reader John buy one , but could n’t get it to work with his 2Wire router . When calling Asus support , he found out that not only does the Eee not work with 2Wire router justly now , but they do n’t even have one to test it with . Wha ?
I have had a Eeepc for less than a hebdomad . I have never been capable to link to the net wirelessly . The dread “ pending ” job . I decide to call proficient support . The tech ask what router I had . I answer “ two wire ” . He say “ oh , I have never been able to make one workplace with two conducting wire . ” “ It ’s a known issue . We are working on it but DON’T HAVE A TWO WIRE ROUTER TO TEST IT WITH . ” He continued “ I got a friend in the valley who has a two conducting wire router , i ve been meaning to go see him and test it out . But he lives pretty far by . ” Now here I am , having spend $ 348 on a nice piddling computer that can only work when hardwired to the router . I already have a computer hardwired , I do n’t call for a petite little one hardwired . So I necessitate the tech “ what am I supposed to do with this computing gadget ? Should I send it back ? ” He responds “ yeah I guess you could do that . ” I know client service is bad all around but a bragging society like Asus does n’t have a router from a tumid manufacturer to test their equipment on ? Give me a good luck , you sent out a computer that has not been test on a commonly used router ? I love the machine , but its useless if it does n’t make ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Asus , get your act together , my goodness ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Any reader able to get it working with 2Wire ? Seems jolly unknown that any laptop would n’t work with a router , see as , you do it , they espouse a standard . [ Thanks John ! ]
