Wow , over in Japan Apple ’s not doing anything by halves — they’re not only replacing faulty batteries in first - gen iPod Nanos , they ’re actually replace the whole iPod . This comes after thecountry ’s authorities pressured Appleover the overheating iPods number .

We’dfirst heardthat there were only 27 casing of overheating and four cases of burn , as a result of faultyiPod Nanobatteries , but it could be as high as 34 all told .
