Alfonso Cuarón helped to prove that science fabrication thriller could be art with Children of Men — now Warner Bros. is betting he ’ll do it a second time , with the space thriller Gravity . Warners prefer Cuarón ’s motion picture as one of a fistful to get released in the sweet spot for movie releases front for a fully grown Oscar thrust . The film , which stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock , will open on Nov. 12 , 2012 . Perhaps 2012 will be the year that science fiction does n’t get snubbed at the Oscars ?
