Syfy ’s challenging , creepy 12 Monkeys is getting another shot at keep the pestilence - depend on futurity , with a second season airing in 2016 .

With Natalie Chaidez prepping her next Syfy serial ( UCP and Valhalla Productions ’ Hunters ) , Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett ( Nikita ) , co - executive producers and writer of the pilot , will be stepping up to serve as EP / Showrunners . Atlas Entertainment ’s Richard Suckle ( Suicide Squad , American Hustle , The International ) and Charles Roven ( Suicide Squad , Batman v. Superman : Dawn of Justice , American Hustle ) will proceed to executive raise with Atlas ’ Jake Kurily producing . Roven served as manufacturer on the original film .
I ’m excited by this news , since 12 Monkeys has been one of the most pleasant surprises on tv late . The second half of the time of year has a few issue ( including a few star sign that the mythos is starting to collapse under its own weight ) but the character are still compelling . And with the Revelation of Saint John the Divine scheduled for 2017 , you know this show wo n’t be drag its feet when it air in 2016 .
